The 2020 holiday season was challenging, with the pandemic well underway and indoor gatherings discouraged or even prohibited. From those dark days emerged a new and beloved tradition at All Souls: The Lighting of the Labyrinth. Each fall, our Youth and volunteers lay out thousands of Christmas lights on the West Lawn (facing Peoria), creating a labyrinth that will be lighted each evening from winter through spring. All are welcome to stroll in quiet contemplation, or run with gleeful abandon.
Like a traditional maze, our labyrinth has a single entry and exit. Unlike a maze, there are no wrong turns. Each step through the labyrinth brings you closer to the center, though the path is long and winding. We invite you to join us on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 for this year’s final evening of Wednesday Community Connections, when we will light the labyrinth just after dark.
