Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar
I’ve spent a lot of time in nature the past 2 weeks. I sat on a mountain at 10,000 for three days, alone, observing the world. No phone, no internet, I didn’t see or speak to another person for 3 days.
I was kept company by a black bear.. that was brown in color (and fortunately only ran past and didn’t stick around), by prancing deer of all ages, an eagle, an owl, scampering chipmunks, lots of bright butterflies and when the wind came I heard it first rustling through the trees before I felt it.
Most of all, I wondered, “What is it I have faith in?”
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “We all have faith in something.”
On Sunday I look forward to sharing my reflections on faith and doubt and what it means to love beyond belief.
