Easter Weekend At All Souls

Children eagerly running during the Easter egg hunt on the front lawn of All Souls Unitarian Church.

Join us this Easter at All Souls Unitarian Church for a weekend that honors deep traditions of reflection, community connection, and joyful celebration. As we reflect on our March theme of "Brokenness," this Easter weekend offers a moment for contemplation, renewal, and connection.

Good Friday Tenebrae Service: March 29, 2024, at 7 pm
Our modern Tenebrae Service, derived from the Latin word for darkness, is a poignant beginning to the Easter weekend. This ritual of progressively extinguishing candles symbolizes the descent into darkness that is a part of our lives. Through traditional and contemporary music, as well as readings that range from scriptural to modern, this service invites you into the darkness of sorrow, suffering, and loss. It is in embracing this darkness that we find the capacity for rebirth and renewal, moving from the shadow of Good Friday into the light of Easter.

Easter Sunday Celebrations: March 31, 2024
Easter Sunday unfolds with activities that welcome everyone in our congregation and community:

  • 10 am: Unitarian Universalist Easter Service
Embrace the spirit of Easter in a service that celebrates rebirth, hope, and the enduring power of love, featuring inspiring music and reflections.
  • Easter Festival and Egg Hunt
Between our Easter-themed Unitarian Universalist service and The Point Humanist Hour, you’re invited to enjoy an Easter Festival and Egg Hunt. This fun-filled event is perfect for families, friends, and our community spirit!
  • 11:30 am: The Point Humanist Hour
Following the egg hunt between services, we’ll meet back in the chapel at 11:30 am for The Point Humanist Hour, reflecting on the theme of ‘Brokenness,’ and offering insights into resilience and renewal.
  • Easter Communion Service at 11:30 am in the Chapel
An Easter Communion service will be held for those who wish to participate, offering a moment of reflection and shared spiritual experience.

This Easter, whether you seek reflection, celebration, or communion, All Souls extends a warm invitation to explore your spiritual journey within our welcoming community.
