About the Program
How does a dream become a museum? OKPOP—the Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture—was born from the conviction that Oklahoma’s stories deserve to be told. Executive Director Jake Krumwiede will share the museum’s journey from bold idea to a near‑opening reality, now in its final stage of fundraising.
Krumwiede began his career at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore, where his passion for Oklahoma‑inspired popular culture took root. He holds history degrees from Rogers State University and Oklahoma State University, and has led OKPOP’s work since 2023.
Come learn how OKPOP will celebrate the artists, creators, and culture‑makers who shaped the soundtrack, screen, and stories of our state—and how you can be part of bringing this vision to life.
