On Sunday, June 1, All Souls Unitarian Church invites you to a powerful worship experience centered on the themes of promise, repair, and recommitment. Led by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, this service will reflect on the promises we make—to ourselves, to each other, and to the communities we belong to. It will also invite us to reckon with the times we fall short—and how we begin again.
This date holds particular meaning in Tulsa. June 1 marks the anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, a devastating chapter in our city and nation's history. It is also the year All Souls was founded—just weeks prior to those events. As a congregation, we recognize that our story is entwined with the story of Tulsa, including its most painful truths. In this service, we will hold space for personal and collective reflection, acknowledging the work of repair that continues—not only within ourselves, but within the histories we are part of.
We are honored to be joined by Tulsa Deputy Mayor Krystal Reyes for this meaningful service. We invite everyone to join in person if you're able, or online, and bring your heart to this work of renewal.
