Father's Day & Juneteenth at All Souls

An outdoor sign for **All Souls Unitarian Church** stands on a small red brick base, surrounded by lush green grass and trees. The message on the marquee reads: **“DADS** **COOL, CALM & COMPLICATED** **REV RANDY LEWIS** **SUN 10 & 11:30”** Beneath the main message, smaller blue text indicates the types of services: “10:00 TRADITIONAL” on the left and “11:30 HUMANIST” on the right. The sign is situated under a canopy of trees, giving a peaceful and welcoming feel.

June 15 | 10 & 11:30am (CST) | All Souls Sanctuary & Online

  • Rev. Randy Lewis: “Dads: Cool, Calm, & Complicated”
  • Part of our summer series: Keeping It Cool

In a mad, mad world where vulnerability is rare and strength is too often confused with silence, what does it mean to be a father? What do we do with the legacy of the ones who raised us, the joyful, the steady, the absent, and the broken? This Sunday, as part of our Summer Series: 'Keeping It Cool', we honor the cool dads, the calm dads, and the complicated ones. As we recognize Juneteenth and Father’s Day, we’ll reflect on:

  • How masculinity can heal rather than harm
  • What it takes to break cycles
  • The courage it takes to love well, even when you weren’t loved well

Whether you're a father, have one, lost one, never knew one, or are still healing from one, this message is for you.
