Serve

“Love is the Spirit of this church
               and Service is its Law.”

This is what our covenant affirms. Unlike many traditions where a specific scripture is the law, at All Souls service to the common good is our highest calling.

Serve the Church

As people move from being guests to members, they begin to see themselves as the ones who welcome and serve others. Together, we work to make our shared vision a reality.

The simple acts of greeting and ushering on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and at our memorial services, honors the ancient art of hospitality and makes our church a real home.

The simple act of teaching our children and youth, honors the ties that bind us together from generation to generation.

Serve the World

Knowing that our fates are intertwined and that when injustice is done to anyone, anywhere, injustice is done to all of us, everywhere, we work steadily towards righting the many injustices in the world. Volunteering in the broader Tulsa community is an important part of our ministry, and we are active in a wide range of programs.

From helping children in Tulsa’s underfunded public schools learn to read, to feeding them warm meals, to rebuilding houses in low income neighborhoods, to picking up trash on our highways, to educating people about climate change, to offering classes on progressive religion in our county jail, to writing letters to inmates, and working to dismantle the New Jim Crow and getting out the vote, we are committed to making Tulsa and the larger world a better place.
