All Souls Unitarian Church Tulsa, OK is seeking a full-time professional to lead our religious education and faith formation programs for youth (9th through 12th grades) and young adults (approximately ages 18-24). The position reports to our Program Minister and works collaboratively with the ministers, staff, and congregants.

Position Summary
The Youth and Young Adult Programs Coordinator will provide faith formation, dynamic leadership and oversight to youth, young adults, and their families, and work to co-create a thriving multigenerational community. An integral part of this role is to grow the faith formation program both within the congregation and through outreach to the community.
Core Responsibilities
- Creating and administering a religious exploration program which includes engaging classes and community wide experiences for youth and youth adults:
- Cultivating a strong Unitarian Universalist (UU) identity and an ability to guide UU faith formation. In particular, our 9th grade "Coming of Age" (COA) class culminating in the 9th graders writing a short credo statement to share in a special worship service and our Youth Sunday when the high school creates the worship service and the seniors are invited to deliver a homily;
- Providing and identifying strong curriculum vision and lesson plan creation, including a working knowledge and respect for Christianity and other world religions;
- Recruiting, training, supporting, and managing a strong core of volunteer facilitators;
- Incorporating social justice values and actions into curriculum, especially with an AR/AO/MC lens;
- Facilitating social justice projects for the groups;
- Keeping accurate records of registration, attendance, and volunteering;
- Facilitating, guiding, and supporting worship for youth and young adults;
- Coordinating special programs with the ministers and music department;
- Proactively and consistently communicating and nurturing relationships with the congregation, families, volunteers and staff, both on Sunday morning and during the week;
- Overseeing the Youth Program budget and leading fundraising efforts for youth and young adult programs (e.g., the Art Market and Garage Sale);
- Participating in regular staff and congregational meetings, and other meetings as requested;
- Maintaining contact with colleagues in other congregations and the wider Unitarian Universalist Association through involvement in the Liberal Religious Educator's Association (LREDA) and other professional and denominational and inter-denominational organizations;
- Providing pastoral support and guidance to youth and families with the support of ministers;
- Maintaining up-to-date community safety training, as provided by the church;
- Plan and lead an annual 9th grade trip to Unitarian Universalist History and Heritage tour to Boston, Massachusetts involving 4 nights in a busy urban hostel. Accommodation will involve a shared room;
- Plan and lead up to four overnight tent camping experiences with youth and adults
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional organizational and event planning skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience teaching youth in any capacity
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent life experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Consistent and reliable transportation
- Clean driving record

Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Minimum of two years' experience in teaching, faith formation, or other youth centered field
- Experience driving a shuttle or large vehicles
- Proven track record of continuous professional development
- Prior experience working in a faith-based or nonprofit setting
- Familiarity with Unitarian Universalist principles and mission
- Experience working with a diverse community of identities
- Previous experience with Our Whole Lives (OWL) Sexuality Education curriculum, or its equivalent, specifically Middle School, High School, and Young Adult - or the willingness to become certified in these areas

Physical Requirements

- Adequate vision and hearing to monitor activities of youth on and off campus
- Ability to get up and down from the floor, unassisted, and to sleep on the floor during camp outs and lock-ins
- Ability to move easily through crowded spaces such as airports and busy urban streets
- Ability to swim
- Comfortable navigating airport and subway with a large group of youth and chaperones
Work Environment
- Time will be spent primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with occasional need to help outdoors
- Potential exposure to allergens (e.g., evergreen trees during holiday season), dust, and humidity
- Up to four outdoor tent-camping experiences annually
